Odor Removal

Odor Removal

Air fresheners mask odors temporarily. We eliminate them permanently. Our odor removal process targets the source — embedded in upholstery, carpet, headliner, and HVAC system — using ozone treatment and enzymatic cleaners.

What's Included

Odors in vehicles come from organic compounds trapped in porous materials — fabric seats, carpet, headliner, foam padding, and the HVAC system. Air fresheners only add a competing scent without removing the source. Our process attacks odors at the molecular level.

We start with a thorough interior detail to remove the physical source of odors — food particles, pet hair, spills, mold. Then we apply enzymatic cleaners that break down odor-causing bacteria and organic matter in upholstery and carpet fibers.

For severe odors (smoke, mildew, strong pet smells), we use a commercial ozone generator that produces activated oxygen molecules. These penetrate every surface in the vehicle and oxidize odor compounds, permanently neutralizing them. The vehicle is aired out after treatment, leaving a genuinely fresh, clean-smelling cabin.

Our Process

1

Source Identification

We identify where the odor is coming from — upholstery, carpet, headliner, vents, or trunk.

2

Deep Clean

Full interior detail to remove physical odor sources — debris, stains, organic matter.

3

Enzymatic Treatment

Bio-enzymatic cleaners applied to affected surfaces to break down odor-causing bacteria.

4

Ozone Treatment

Commercial ozone generator runs in the sealed vehicle to oxidize remaining odor compounds at the molecular level.

5

Air & Verify

Vehicle aired out completely. We verify the odor is eliminated before handoff.

  • Eliminates odors permanently — not just masking
  • Effective against smoke, pets, food, mold, and mildew

Frequently Asked Questions

Can you remove cigarette smoke smell?

Yes — smoke odor is one of our most common requests. It requires thorough treatment because smoke compounds embed in every porous surface. Our combination of deep cleaning, enzymatic treatment, and ozone therapy eliminates smoke odor in most cases with a single treatment.

How long does odor removal take?

The full process (interior detail + enzymatic treatment + ozone) takes 4–6 hours. The ozone generator needs to run for 1–2 hours in the sealed vehicle, plus time for airing out. We recommend having the vehicle available for a full day.

Is ozone treatment safe for my car's interior?

Yes, at the concentrations and durations we use. Ozone is widely used in the automotive, hospitality, and restoration industries. After treatment, the vehicle is aired out until ozone levels return to ambient. We don't recommend being in the vehicle during treatment.

What if the odor comes back?

If the physical source of the odor has been removed and properly treated, it shouldn't return. In rare cases with severe smoke or mold, a second treatment may be needed. We'll be upfront about expectations.

Can you remove the smell from a flooded car?

We can treat mold and mildew odors from water damage, but if the vehicle was fully submerged, there may be structural moisture issues beyond what detailing can address. We'll assess and advise honestly.
